Lemon man and the incomprehensible octopus
Were walking in Liberty’s garden
The clouds on the horizon were promising rain
And the birds were taking shelter in the garden’s manicured creations
While they sang an old dinosaur song to get ready for bed.
The sounds started soft and raised in volume
Lemon man’s reptile brain responded and he realized that we are all descended from the same mysterious mother and father.
And the garden got quieter while the octopus shifted colors to match the flowers which had begun to sigh
And it seemed like he was absorbing the colors and the song.
While inside the bird’s brains sleep was tumbling down the corridors
Shutting off lights and hushing the day’s restless thoughts.
The octopus’s dream had come while he was awake
And the Lemon man had to guide him through the garden’s paths,
Around the fountain where they paused for a drink,
And past the carousel, still, except for the slow breathing of the sleeping horses.
Then they opened the gate and stepped into the spinning universe.
